With the Easter holidays in sight, the weather will offer a rollercoaster of temperatures and conditions until then. It’s all here, from overnight frost to spring-like temperatures of 20 degrees and even a hint of polar air. Here, we take a detailed look at the current trends and give a preview of the weather until Easter.
Changeable until the middle of the week
Night frost and spring warmth up to 20 degrees: The start of the week promises a friendly and mild Sunday before the weather cools down again at the beginning of the week. Temperatures will drop by around 5 degrees, accompanied by heavy rain in the country’s western half. However, an improvement is already in sight on Tuesday, and Wednesday promises bright sunshine as the week’s highlight.

Clear west-east gradient in temperatures
A striking west-east divide will characterize the temperatures: while the Inn and Rhine valleys will reach up to 20 degrees, Vienna will remain much cooler, with a maximum of 11 degrees. Light frost is also common in the north and east the night before, in some cases for the first time since the end of January.

Weather fronts and rising temperatures
The next few days will again bring weather fronts from lows over northern Europe. Despite thickening clouds, there will be no rain for the most part, while the south will remain dry for now. Temperatures will hover around the 15-degree mark, although regional differences may occur.

Towards the first vacation weekend, the influence of low-pressure areas will increase, and showers will occur more frequently. In some cases, rain is to be expected for longer periods, while some scenarios even predict snowflakes down to lower-lying valleys. Temperatures will continue to fall, with only around 5 degrees in the west.
Forecast until Easter
Temperatures will rise only slowly in the week before Easter, but the tendency for showers will decrease. The chances of friendly and mild spring weather are not bad for the second half of the week and the Easter weekend. Nevertheless, the forecast still has uncertainties, so we will have to wait and see how things develop.
